Children whose disabilities hinder their academic learning are evaluated and treated by a person who specializes in this field. There are two types of treatment: group and individual. Sensory stimulation, visual/perceptual training, and fine motor activities can all be included as part of treatment. It is possible to use tools for treatment such as computers, puzzles, manipulatives, putties, and crafts. Besides providing recommendations to classroom teachers, this individual may also provide information on how to tailor the learning process to meet the needs of each student.
