A certified teacher who assists other teachers with the instruction of math, language arts, reading and writing for slow learners, learning disabled and/or handicapped students. This instruction takes place outside the classroom, often in a specially designated resource room. The resource teacher often travels to several schools within the district and provides special reading and writing materials and supplemental educational games. This position may or may not be funded by specific state or federal programs. The resource teacher may receive mail at the district or at a school building.
